An assistant for the game master, designed for games around a real table. It prepares the world, keeps the campaign’s memory and hands out information to the players, without replacing the dice, the miniatures or the conversations.
No: SagaWyn runs in a recent browser. You can also install it as an app on a computer, phone or tablet (see “Recommended setup”).
In “Preferences”, by clicking your name at the top right. Your choices follow your account on all your devices.
The game holds your rules and the fields of your sheets (traits, counters…). The world gathers places, characters and organisations, reusable from one campaign to the next. The campaign is your table: scenarios, sessions, players and characters. Several campaigns can share the same game and the same world.
In “My campaigns”, “Load the demonstration” creates “The Oath of Pierrecendre” in one click, in the language you choose: an invented game, a world, a three-session scenario, linked sheets, a map with tokens, secrets, sounds, a session already played and a character to explore with “View as”. Export it afterwards if you want to use it as a model.
Type “/” to open search: in a campaign, it looks through its sheets, scenes, rules and documents; from “My campaigns”, through all your games, worlds and campaigns. In a text, type [[ followed by a name to link to a sheet; the cited sheet then shows “Mentioned in” with every place that talks about it.
To sort and filter sheets, scenes, rules, documents and sounds (“act 1”, “faction”, “to prepare”). The “Tags” page lets you give them a colour, rename them and merge two tags into one.
Never. An entry’s GM zone never leaves the server for a player: they only see what you have revealed or given to them, and only for their character.
In the campaign, open “Members” and create one invitation link per player. Send it however you like (message, Discord, email): the player signs in or creates an account, and joins the campaign.
Yes. When creating the link in “Members”, choose the role: a co-GM prepares and runs games with you, with access to the GM zone, but manages neither members nor the campaign's deletion; a spectator only sees the table screen, at all times, even when you don't share it with players: that's the role for a TV or a projector.
On the campaign’s “Characters” page: create the sheet or pick a pre-generated character, then choose the player. You can reassign it at any time, and attach the PDF sheet.
From an entry, a document, a rule or Session mode, use “Reveal” or “Give” and choose the characters. They receive it right away, with a notification, and everything is recorded in the journal.
In “Scenarios”, create the scenario and then its scenes, grouped by chapter. Each scene has a status (planned, available, in progress, played) and gathers what you need to run it: sheets with a short note, documents, rules and sounds. The secrets that concern it are shown alongside.
It is your screen during the game. It starts a session and shows the current scene with its sheets, documents, rules and secrets, your pinned sheets, the “To play” list (ideas and clues to place, ticked off once done) and a notes block attached to the scene. “End session” files everything on the session page, where you can write its summary.
In “Game fields”, create the fields of your sheets: text, number, list of choices, counter (HP, ammo, money), date, link, document or reference to another sheet. Each field goes in the public or GM zone, can apply to one or several sheet types, and can be “Editable by the player” on their character.
Yes: on the sheet, the “In this campaign” block keeps a status (alive, missing…), notes and field values specific to the campaign. The world sheet and the other campaigns do not change.
Game rules apply to all its campaigns; house rules belong to a single campaign. Each one has an origin (reference, house, test) and a status, so you know what is adopted and what still needs testing in play.
Yes: “Duplicate” on a sheet, a scenario or a campaign makes a copy. A duplicated campaign keeps all the prepared content, without players, characters, sessions or journal: handy to run a scenario again with another table.
Yes, from their character sheet, they give each other items and knowledge. By default, you approve each exchange; untick “Approve exchanges between players” on the campaign page to let them do it and simply be informed.
In “Characters”, hand it to another player or leave it without a player: it keeps everything it has received. If the player comes back, they get their character back. A new character can also take over part of an old one’s knowledge and possessions.
The campaign journal lists reveals, gifts, exchanges and changes, with the session concerned. Each session has its page with its summary, notes, events and what was revealed.
A secret is a standalone piece of information (“Morel works for the Cult”), linked to the relevant entries, scenes or documents. It appears on those pages and in Session mode: one click on a character reveals it to them, another click undoes it. “Reveal history” shows who learned what, and during which session.
On a character’s page, “View as” shows exactly what their player sees, read-only, with a banner as a reminder.
In Session mode, open the table screen, drag the window onto the TV or projector and switch to full screen. Then choose what is shown; you can also share it on the players’ devices.
In “Maps”, turn an image from the documents into a map. You can add a square grid (size, alignment, a scale such as “1 square = 5 ft”), tokens linked to entries and a ruler to measure a distance. The framing you choose is the one shown on the table screen, and a hidden token doesn't appear there. Your miniatures are still welcome: the map is a support, not a virtual tabletop.
Add your tracks in “Sounds” (mp3, ogg, m4a, wav or flac) and link them to scenes. In Session mode, the “Music” block offers the current scene’s sounds first: “Here” plays them on your device, and the music keeps going when you change pages; “Table” plays them on the table screen, connected to the speakers. On the first track, the table screen may ask you to “Turn on sound”: the browser requires it.
Open “Player feedback” from the campaign, or “Ask the players for feedback” on a session page. Each player gets a notification and gives a rating from 1 to 5 stars, what they enjoyed and what could be better. If you tick “Anonymous answers”, you see the ratings and comments without names, and players know it before answering.
Yes: open “Remote control” (from Session mode or a map) on your phone. From there you clear the screen, move on to the scene's next item, move and zoom the displayed map, and show or hide its tokens.
The “Relation graph” draws the campaign’s entries and their relations. Click an entry to put it at the centre, choose the depth (1 to 3 relations) or an entry type. “View as…” shows the network as a character knows it: only the entries they know and the public relations between them.
To record the world’s history, planned events and what happened in play, with free-form dates (“12 March 1924”, “Day 3”, “Night 2”). A played event noted during a session is attached to the session and the current scene. Tick “Visible to players” so they can read it.
It appears on its own, in a window on the page you're on, with the content. If you weren't logged in, the window opens on your next visit. Everything then stays on your character's page.
Yes: at the bottom of the campaign page, “Export the campaign” downloads a .zip archive with the game, the world, the sheets, scenarios, documents, maps, secrets and the timeline, files included. The owner can also “Download the complete backup”, which adds the table: characters, what they received, sessions, notes, messages and journal, without email addresses or notes kept private. From “My campaigns”, “Import a campaign” recreates it, for you or for another GM; the characters come back without a player, ready to be handed out. The import form shows the maximum size the server accepts: a heavier archive requires raising “upload_max_filesize” and “post_max_size” in the PHP configuration.
Yes: on the campaign page, in “Campaign features”, untick the table screen, maps, exchanges between players, the graph, the timeline or the AI assistant. The feature disappears for every member without deleting anything, and comes back as it was as soon as you tick it again.
Yes, with the AI of your choice: in “Import”, open “Prepare the files with an AI”, copy the prompt and paste it into your AI with the PDF. It prepares the files to import (fields, sheets, rules, scenes) and a step-by-step guide. Only use documents you own.
In “Game fields”, “Export the template” downloads the structure alone: entry types, fields and tags, with the game’s rules if you wish, without any content. Another GM imports it in the same place, into their own game; whatever already exists under the same name is left untouched.
Open “AI assistant” in the campaign and choose the session: SagaWyn prepares a text with your notes and the context. Paste it into the AI of your choice, then paste its answer: it becomes suggestions (summary, events, relations, statuses, notes, reveals) that you accept, edit or reject one by one. SagaWyn sends nothing itself, and nothing changes without your approval.
Yes: in “Preferences”, “AI assistant” block, choose Claude, ChatGPT or Mistral and paste an API key in your name. The assistant then offers “Analyse directly”, with no copy-paste. Calls are billed by the provider to your account: set a spending limit there. The key is encrypted, never shown again nor exported.
No: the “Import” page accepts CSV or JSON files to create entries, scenes, rules or fields in one go. But everything can also be done directly in the app.
Joining a campaign as a player is always free. To run your own campaigns, a Premium trial starts with your first campaign; after that, the free plan lets you run one campaign, and Premium lifts the limits and gives more space for your files. Details are in “Preferences”.
Nothing is deleted. Premium features, marked ✦, are paused in your campaigns, and your sheets, maps, messages and files stay. Everything comes back as soon as you switch to Premium.
In “Preferences”, “My account” section. Your current password is required, and your old address is notified of the change. Forgot your password? Use the “Forgot your password?” link on the login page.
In “Preferences”, “Security” section, turn on two-factor authentication with an app on your phone (Google Authenticator, Aegis, 1Password…). Keep the recovery codes shown at that moment: each one lets you log in without your phone.
Write to us from your account’s email address: after verification, the administrator removes two-factor authentication, and you can turn it back on.
Yes, in “Preferences”, “My data” section: “Download my data” gives you everything SagaWyn keeps about you, and “Delete my account” erases your account, your campaigns and your files. Remember to export your campaigns first.
In “My campaigns”, click the campaign: you land straight on your character’s sheet, with their knowledge, possessions and your notes.
Yes, once the app is installed and your sheet has been opened at least once on the device: it stays readable offline.
You edit the fields the GM has made editable, such as your counters (hit points, ammo, money). You can also add an item or a piece of knowledge: the GM is informed and approves it.
Yes, on your character’s page. Each note is shared with “Only me”, “Me and the GM”, “Some players (and the GM)” or “The whole table”. An “Only me” note is never visible to the GM.
With “Chat”, at the bottom of the screen, or the “Messages” page: write to the GM privately, to another player or to the whole group. You are notified of replies.
A banner on your character’s page opens the form: a rating from 1 to 5 stars, what you liked and what could be better. The form tells you whether your answers are anonymous.
Yes: from your character’s page, “Graph” shows the entries they know and the relations the GM has left visible between them. “Timeline” gathers the events the GM has shared.
In “Notifications”, under “On this device”, turn on notifications: you’ll be notified even when the app is closed.
If something doesn’t work as expected, tell us: the message goes straight to the team, along with the page concerned.
